What's the time?

First, I am really sorry guys.

I guess you have to deal with a lot of similar questions.

I posted this question but I couldn't find my question again.

I often have a hard time searching for what I posted.

I came across 'what's the wait?' and I am wondering if this expression is decent and general enough to use every situation like "How long should I wait?" or just at a specific place like a restaurant.

Again I am not a native English speaker so I would really appreciate it if you could clarify it for me.

Thank you as always.
