What's the point of ... if he wasn't/isn't?

Which one of the two questions below is grammatically correct ?

What's the point of unblocking me if he isn't going to talk to me in the first place?

What's the point of unblocking me if he wasn't going to talk to me in the first place?

I am leaning towards wasn't for this sentence because it has the phrase "in the first place"

Would appreciate some help on this matter... Thank you.

Abdulla AbdulAziz Al-h Would appreciate some help on this matter.. Presumably you were previously told that he would not talk to you. In that case, and if he hasn't changed his stance, either verb tense is fine.
