What's the meaning of " premise of deeper feelings"
hmm.. I checked the dictionary, it is said Premise is a previous statement or proposition from which another is inferred or follows as a conclusion.
But how to understand it in the following sentence?
In the depths of my heart, the premise of deeper feelings comes over me. A lump starts to form in my throat.
