What's the meaning

of sharply here?

"Gavin Hill was shown on CCTV in an exchange with cyclist Phillip Mead before he lurched the bus sharply into the cyclist's path, throwing him from his bike."

I guess all these definitions from OALD makes sense but which one is the most appropriate or are they all apply?

1. in a critical, rough or severe way
2. suddenly and by a large amount
3. quickly and suddenly or loudly
