What's the meaning

of bond here?

"reminded me of a funny incident with a landlord. A week before i was moving out a water hose appeared in the backyard. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time. The day before the final inspection, the hose magically disappeared again. When it came time to settle on the bond, he casually mentioned It would be $150 for the hose. I lolled at him and he dropped it straight away."
