What's the meaning

of conflicting interests here?

"OP wants to watch his video and the other guy was bothered by the volume on the video. OP wasn't being obnoxious by listening to something on tiny iPad speakers and the guy wasn't wrong for being bothered by the noise. It's a case of conflicting interests and the only thing to do is come to an amicable solution to the conflict."

I understand what conflict means, but I don't understand what interest means when it is used here.

For example. There is one sack of flour in the house.
I want to use the flour to bake muffins for my poker club.
Jane wants to use the flour to bake a cake for her friend's birthday. There is nothing wrong with either of our desires, but both cannot be accomplished given the one sack of flour
