What's the meaning

of has a good ring to it mean here?

"What would the kid call me? I'm thinking funcle has a good ring to it."

sorry I didn't quote the whole account, I thought it would be too long, but basically he is asking for people's advice on whether he should be a sperm donor to his sister's girlfriend.
