What's the meaning?

of offset here? I tred the dictionary, but couldn't find a definition that makes sense to the context.

"Mixed use zoning. Lanes are about 12 feet wide and sidewalks around 5. If neither property is significantly offset, a property directly in front of his house is around 50 feet away, even assuming a road separates the two."

Did I get this correctly? So it's essentially the required distance that 2 different structures are built away from each other.

In practice it works out that way but an offset is measured in relation to the structure and its own property line not in relation to some other property line or structure. Even if there are no other structures around the
