What's the meaning?

of at the short end in the following?

"In summary, at the short end, digestion takes about 75 hours,
but it can take up to 80 hours from the time it enters the mouth to the time it
leaves the body in the form of stool."

My assumption was the shortest time it could take.

Thanks a million!

Hi, I wonderif it refers to what is called 'the short intestine'? I note that this pasaage begins 'in summary'. Does the preceding text have more details about this?

It's basically paragraphs long about how digestion in the human body works, and the topic of the article was how long it takes for the body to digest food.

Hi,

In summary, at the short end, digestion takes about 75 hours,
but it can take up to 80 hours

It very likely means this.

Digestion takes from 75 to 80 hours.

The short end (more commonly said as 'the low end') of the range is 75 hours.
