Where did you hear "uptil now"? I've never heard this before. The phrase is "until now" (one L) and it means "before this point in time."

Hi

"Uptil now we have drawn the points for you, and asked you to give their coordinates."

This sentence is from CBSE book for math, class IX, chapter 3

it means, it has a certain meaning, do not you think?

The way I understand it, and I may be wrong, up till now would be used to describe something that has been in a particular state, and has changed at a certain point.

Ex: I have been able to keep this secret up till now, but I just cant hide it anymore...

I view until as a future reference that something will change irs state, it just has not done it yet.

Ex: bake at 450

As I am able to observe, Anonymous has answered it more elaborately.
Because in India we use both words and not separate ie Until and uptill. I am not an expert in English but thats what I have been knowing and using it.
Unfortunately many of us not know the differentiation & use it just randomly.
