My understanding:

Journey - usually refers to a longer time context with no implied return. i.e. Life is a journey, enjoy the view along the way.

Trip - refer to (ususally) shorter visit with intent to return to point of origin. I am taking a short trip to Shanghai next week. I'll be back beforethe weekend.

Tour: implies planned stops at several places.

I agree with the poster above me, but wanted to add some things.

Sometimes journey can refer to inner growth- like spirituality or going through time towards a goal. Either way, it usually has an implication of a longer process, where the process itself can be as valuable as the destination.

Trip can mean going away for a shorter time- trip to the beach, school trip to the museu
