Hi,

You should not use "till" in formal writing. It is mainly used in spoken English. Remember that you must spell the word "until" with a single L

Here's Merriam-Webster's definition of "till":

Main Entry: 2till
Function: conjunction

It doesn't say "slang"...

Hello Pdk

It's possible that some native speakers feel that "till" is less formal. But as far as I can see, from the entries in Merriam Webster and the Oxford English Dictionary, you can use "till" instead of "until" wherever you like (e.g. where the rhythm of the sentence requires it).

"Till" also appears in some set phrases, e.g. "till we meet again!".

And untill isn't a word. It's until.

"Till" is used to mean the time up to a particular instance and the action can continue even after that.
"Until" is used to mean the time up to a particular instance and the speaker has in mind that the action after this time does not almost happen.
