What's the difference between "on the wall" and "on wall" ?

English is not my native language, so I'm not so good in grammar.
I hear a lot of " check this on facebook" , "this is on wall street". In this examples why the word "the" is missing?
Is it grammatically correct to say : "Check this article onwall.com" for example ?

Facebook, Wall Street and web site names are all treated as proper noun

The question in your heading brings up a very different point.

What's the difference between "on the wall" and "on wall"?

You would need a special context to make "on wall" correct.
The correct version is "on the wall" or "on a wall".

Note that a wall is something quite different from a street that is named "Wall Street".
