What's the difference between 'behind the scene' and ' behind the scenes'

hi, everyone.

I just started wondering the difference of these two phrases.

An English dictionary says 'behind the scenes' means 'not seen by public'.

Then how do you understand the meaning of "behind the scene"?

Do I have to catch on to its definition jusy literaliy?
