What's the difference between #1 and #2?

#1. She came home for dinner.
#2. She came home to dinner.
---------------------------------------------------------
I read about the difference of nuancee of them in a grammer book on Preposition written by my native language.
But I can't totally make sense what it means.
so I'd like to know the fact about the difference between to and for by the English Native speaker.
Thanks for reading.
