What’s the difference?

A: Hey Sir, there is a mistake with the receipt.
B: Hey Sir, there has been a mistake with the receipt.

Could somebody tell me the difference in meaning between the sentences above? Thank you in advance.

anonymous Hey Sir First of all, let's note that this combination of words is pretty much impossible. "hey" is extremely informal; "sir" is extremely formal. The two do not go together.
