What's the difference?

1. "... You would not perchance have any notion of who might have wished my brother ill, would you?"
2. "... You would not perchance have any notion of who wished my brother ill, would you?"

Hi, dear teachers. Would you please tell me the difference between 1 and 2?

Thank you.
