Both can work depending upon the tense of the surrounding sentences. I think the first option using "being" is the most natural, and most common way of saying this if the focus is on your feeling depressed. However, if the focus is on being in that place, "to be" may add the implication that you came to be in that place not by your own choosing, or that there is an alternate place you had an option to be.
