What's a word for someone who thinks everyone is against them?

Just as the title says.

And I don't mean in a violent against you sort of thing, but... more like, always believing someone is trying to undermine you all the time and discriminate against you. Feeling as if you're always being persecuted against and no one is doing work, except for yourself.

Another word I'm trying to remember is a word for being told to do what you already know. Such as: "Don't put your hand on a hot stove."

I remember in my linguistics class there were words for these sort of things. Hopefully you can all help me out. Thanks! And I'm glad to be a new member here Emotion: smile

Don't touch the hot stove: Perhpas obviating the obvious, or "duh" (actually spelled d'oh" in the animated TV series.

You don't want "self-evident" for the hot stove thing, do you?

Hi,

Another word I'm trying to remember is a word for being told to do what you already know. Such as: "Don't put your hand on a hot stove."

If someone irritates me by saying this to me, I might say 'Don't state the obvious!'

Not sure there's a word for the stove thing, but what about the phrase "blindingly obvious"?

"Feeling as if you're always being persecuted against"
playing victim or self victimization (usually a cop-out way to avoid taking responsibility for themselves or a method of gaining sympathy/attention)

"Another word I'm trying to remember is a word for being told to do what you already know. Such as: "Don't put your hand on a hot stove.""

the word is redundant
