Whatever you may think he is not a coward

Dear Tutors,Emotion: smile

PLease, explain to me why "Whatever you may think he is not a coward" is not a run-on sentence. I understand the meaning of this sentence but I don't see any coordination word between "Whatever you may think" and "he is not a coward."

Thank you very much.
