Whatever happened to subjuncts?

Back in 1985 when Randolph Quirk et al. published their "A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language" they introduced four subcategories of the "adverbial" function: "adjunct", "disjunct", "conjunct" and "subjunct". The first three seem to be alive and well, but most authors I have read (with the notable exception of David Crystal) seem to ignore "subjunct". Anyone got any idea why this is?

Well, according to Quirk et al. subjuncts are the words/phrases I've put in capitals in the following quotations:
You JUST can't believe a word he says.
ONLY her sister visited her in hospital.
She won't mind IN THE SLIGHTEST.
LOOKED AT POLITICALLY the proposal seems dangerous.

WEATHERWISE, the outlook is dismal.
She KINDLY offered me her seat.
