Hi,

Is "to drink" fine in my context? Or do I need to say "drinking"?

Fine.

Also, What you need to do is drink ...

But, What you are doing is drinking ...

In short, echo 'doing' with an -ing verb. For every other form of 'do', echo with 1) the verb alone or 2) 'to' and the verb.
