What would you change? No. 1

Hello there,

What would you change in the following sentences?

Primary sources constitute a significant part of delving into history, therefore the basic assumption made in/for the course its participants are/will be exposed to a vast number of primary texts. Not only is studying of them essential from the point of view of grasping a full understanding of history but it also makes it more real and is definitely beneficial for the students.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I'd say this. Primary sources are important in exploring history, so this course will introduce participants to a vast number of original texts. These are essential for a full understanding of the reality of history.
