What would be a word for when the past comes to haunt you.

I don't think we have a single word for it. The best I can come up with is "haunting memory."

I don't really think that deja vu (sorry, I don't have accents on my keyboard) works here - that's the odd sensation of being sure you've experienced something before.

Hello, the word I would use to describe a past event coming back to haunt me would be 'karma'. Since you mentioned the word 'haunt' then I take it that the past event is negative in some way so I would then say 'bad karma'. I guess 'Karma' is more of a concept then anything else but it refers to something 'coming back'.2:34:37 PM
