What would be a natural and simpler way of saying this?

If I had known the clouds would hide the sun I would have taken the window seat for the sun would not have irritated me.

If I had known it was going to be cloudy and that the sun wouldn't bother me, I would have taken the window seat.

If I had known the clouds would hide the sun I would have taken the window seat for the sun would not have irritated me.
I didn't take the window seat because I wanted to avoid the sun—and then it turned out to be cloudy.
