Sentence: My boyfriend got drunk, attacked me and ended up in jail.
I know that above sentence is correct. Please tell me what words can I use in place of "got"?
'became' means the same as 'got', but 'got drunk' is such a standard combination of words that few people would say 'became drunk'. 'became' is too formal compared to the informal word 'drunk'. There are probably no other words that fit in that sentence where you have 'got'.

My boyfriend drank too much, became inebriated, attacked me and ended up in jail.
My boyfriend was wasted, attacked me and ended up in jail.
(There ya go....simple and definitely not formal using the word wasted and it gets rid of the dreaded "got"...ha)
