What verb is used with phrase " self-respect"?

1) you should maintain your self-respect by not being so obvious.

2) you should keep your self-respect by not being so obvious.

Which one is correct? keep or maintain? Can I just say " maintain/keep self -respect or have to use possived pronounce "your" in the sentence?

Verbs used with [your / my / his / ...] self-respect as object include these: maintain, keep, retain, build, improve, protect, lose, enhance, boost, regain, raise, lower, develop, destroy, take away, diminish

You don't have to have the possessive adjective your, but I think it is better with it.
