Or, if you were a young man and your victim was pretty and female, you might produce a corny pickup line like: "Sorry but you are so gorgeous I tripped over my middle leg."

(Warning to would-be letharios: this pick-up line is a huge turn-off to any female. Avoid!)

If you made a sudden falling over yourself trip and at the same time made the person in front of you fall to the floor, then what would you like to say? I mean, how to apologize or say something to get passing over the embarassing situation? Thanks.

My suggestion was going to be almost exactly the same as Clive's.

1. Thank you for the bonus input, GG. Trip is the word I have been looking for.

2. A follow-up question is: Why did you use "was" instead of "is" in this sentence "My suggestion was going to be almost ..."

I read your post and I had in mind what I was going to write, and then I read Clive's response. I was putting the sequence in place that I had the thought first. The fact that he and I were so close tells me it's probably something a lot of people would say. I didn't want you to read what I wrote and think I was correcting Clive's response, but rather, adding another vote to it.
