What to do with "one"?

Here is the question:

Example: One should work really hard so that he or she can get good marks.

In this example, the word "one" does not suggest any gender. So, we have to use "he or she." What if I don't want to use "he or she" or "one" again? Can I used any other word in that place? (at "he or she").

One should work really hard so that they can get good marks.

I have seen such sentence too. Is it correct? Expert comments are expected.

maybe you can get rid of the 'so that' and use some other terms which do not require the actor. how about 'to get good marks'

Hi,

The solution is that you should use one twice.

One should work really hard, so that one can get good marks (formal).

You should work really hard, so that you can get good marks (spoken).

Just use an infinitive phrase:

One should work really hard to get good marks.
