What the difference?

what is the difference in meaning between 'After I had waiter for an hour, I left' and 'After i had been waiting for an hour, I left'? Or they mean almost the same and interchangeable?

Top answer

Apart from their tense, they mean the same. “waiter” should be written “waited” – and i should be I. Sentences, of course, start with a capital.
