What taste or kind of taste; what cake or what kind of cake?ht

Please help. I think, if I am right, when you ask, "What school do you go to," you are likely to get something like "I go to + name of the school." And if you ask, "What kind of school do you go to?" I think what you will hear will include answers like "I go to a public/boarding school."

Now, if the answer is "It has a rich chocolate taste," which should be the question?

1. What taste does it have?

2. What kind of taste does it have?

About this? Assuming the answer is "I like chocolate cake," which should be the question?

1. What cake do you like?

2. What kind of cake do you like?

" is also correct. "What taste does it have" would usually not be used unless in certain cases where the answer has to do with sweet/sour/bitter etc. Both of your cake questions are acceptable.
