I'm still not quite sure what you mean, Silencio, but if the language (whichever language it is) is transcribed in the Roman alphabet (A, B, C, etc), then each letter is individual.

No. Chinese has characters that represent words or syllables. It does not have letters. English has letters that (very roughly) represent sounds.
