What should I call the people of a tribe?

Hello,

I am writiing a novel about tribes and kingdoms.

I am calling the main tribe, the Braves tribe.

My question is: when I want to talk about the people of the tribe what should I say?

sould I say the Braves are happy or the Braves is happy or the people of the braves are happy? or is there an other way

So what do these people call themselves? Since it is your novel, you can give them a name.

eg.

The English are happy today. Their team won the world cup.
The Americans are sad today. They lost.

If you called them "the Brave Tribe" or "Tribe of the Brave" then you would say the tribe is happy. However, since you are using the plural form of brave, and saying the people of such tribe, you would use "are" since you are talking about multiple members of the tribe as opposed to the collective singular tribe.

The people of the Braves Tribe are happy.
The Braves are happy.

I don't want to appear too negative but, if you are having this sort of problem with whether your main tribe is singular or plural, this novel is going to be a long time in the writing.

Yes, you can. However, I would probably capitalize Tribe in your second sentence so that is it clear that you are referring to the name of the group, and, therefore, the group collectively as one unit. If that is not part of their name, you could say "The tribe of The Braves is amon
