What she wants to say is that even though she likes the idea, she doesn't like the execution.

Consider the sentence:

What she wants to say is that even though she likes the idea, she doesn't like the execution.

Would it be wrong to put a comma before "even though"?

Punctuation in cases like this has always been confusing for me. Sometimes I even consider replacing "that" with a colon, as in:

What she wants to say is: even though she likes the idea, she doesn't like the execution.


And while I'm still here...

[x] Punctuation in [x] cases like this

Should there be any articles at the places marked with [x]?

Also, at the places or in the places? Maybe there's a better way to put it?
