What punctuation mark to put after a quotation?

For example:
He said, "I'm alright.".
He asked, "Are you okay?".
Is this correct, "Are you okay?"?

Do we still finish the sentence with another quotation mark?

Top answer

No. The mark inside serves double duty, even if it seems to be the wrong one, just because it would look bad otherwise.
