what prepositions can be used before "protocol"?

Which ofthe following (tentative :-) variants are passable English?

(1) The data is transmitted VIA the TCP/IP protocol.
(2) The data is transmitted WITH the TCP/IP protocol.
(3) The data is transmitted WITH THE USE of the TCP/IP protocol.
(4) The data is tranmitted THROUGH TCP/IP.
(5) The data is tranmitted BY TCP/IP.
