I use Ubuntu 10.10, and never looked back. i love how you can customize everything, how easy it is, how user friendly it is, the look of it, how its free, and how fast it is. i can usually go from a cold start to being on the internet in about 40 seconds ( it could be faster, but i have the mac style dock, and that seems to slow the start up time a tad). you dont need ms offise, open office does

If I use the system you recommend, would I be able to use the software "TurboTax" prepare my taxes? Would I be able to use Photoshop Elements to do magic to my photos?

The point is that you have to consider the requirements of the software you want to use before you choos
