'what' or 'no way'

0when a person reacts to something highly surprising happening right in front of him, would he say 'what??' or rather saying 'no way!!', I'm trying to see if saying 'what??' for an reaction is a mistake. In addition, is there any grammarical mistake that I made from above? TY for reply 050010id1

00That's exactly what has been bothering me, between 'what the ...' and 'what!??', I've seen the first one a lot but not the second one, for me when you say 'what??!', like you said, is more likely the person is asking for a pardon, or at least reacting unbearable for the last words -uni
