What means ZAP?

Can anybody helps me? I don't know what means word ZAP? In this sentence that word is writen with all capital letters, did anybody know why? Is it a verb or is it acronym?

"So, next time you've got your finger on the button ready to ZAP the rest of the family with your assertiveness, think about the power game you're playing".

It is the end of text about psychological researh of dominance in modern family.
