What "lift up" Means

Hi,

Will you rephrase the sentence below? I can't picture it, especially the "it lifts up" part. What lifts up? in the middle of what?

The front desk is stained white Formica, it lifts up in the middle and has a swing out door.

If you need it, the place that this writing is describing is here:

Thanks in advance,

Yes I can see your problem. The phrase does not make it clear what exactly "lifts up". "it lifts up in the middle" the "it" here refers to the front desk.
