0I think that whether or not potatoes, vegetables, etc., are called "a side" (or "a side dish,", which is not significantly different, in my opinion), whether they are on the plate with the main course or not, and whether you pay extra for them or not varies from restaurant to restaurant. I don't think there are standard rules. 02br
