Check this sentence out:
This is my hand talking to you
This = determiner - subject of the sentence
Is = linking verb
My hand = noun phrase, subject complement (predicate nominal)
Talking to you = ??
"Talking to you" is obviously a gerund phrase; however, I can't think of any part of the speech that this gerund belongs to. Can you anyone explain it to me?
