What kind of light is "empty" light?

Can you tell me what "empty" means there? Unfortunately, there is not more context, just a sky of empty light.

Hi Yveslin, Welcome to English Forums. "Empty light" means nothing to me. A sky empty of light = a dark sky with no moon and no stars.

Thank you for the answer. I just need some guess on what "empty light" could be. It's a phrase Thomas Ligotti uses.

Well, he used it once to describe an October calendar picture. The sky was light but empty — no birds or anything else in the sky.
He is using poetic language.
It's not for everyday conversation.
