What kind of composition is a farewell speech?

What kind of composition is a farewell speech given by a student to a teacher who is leaving? Would it be a narrative if it includes anecdotes or the story of how the students got to know their teacher? Or would it be a descriptive composition if it describes the teacher's dedication and what she means to the students? What if the speech includes both elements? What kind of composition would it be then?
