What kind of clause are these? Can you help me name them?
There is some evidence that the economy is improving.
There is no sign that the economy is on the upturn.

I assume you are referring to the that-clauses (you could have highlighted them!), which are dependent clauses that are sometimes called content clauses, I believe.

But I feel they are different from "the news that", "the fact that", "word that". Can we call them alternative clauses?
