What kind of..

When we use this frase should we use an article or not?

Whay kind of man are you?

Whay kind of a man are you?

Top answer

Both are correct and there is little difference in meaning. I would more naturally omit the article. Obviously it should be "What" not "Whay", and "frase" is spelled "phrase".
