What it's like vs how does it look

I work on wards in one of the busiest hospitals. We can know by checking the Bluespier the system that gives you details of all the patients on a given ward-new , going home, etc.
Can I ask , "how does it look" or "what it's like" to confirm what sort of day we can expect on wards in our area? How can I express the idea in question to confirm with colleague when they are checking the
Bluespier?
