What is wrong in these sentences?

Hi.
What is wrong in the following sentences:
1 The driver lost the control of the car and it crashed into a tree.
2 Both television and radio has become favourite sources of entertainment.
3 You cannot leave the country without a special permission.
4 His success was because of hard work.
My opinion:
1 it -should be omitted
2 I don`t know
3 visa instead of permission?
4 He succeed because he worked harder.
