What is the word 'hard'

The coloration helps make the egg hard to see against the background, thus protecting the egg against predators.

in above sentence, I think it is

1) the egg (to be) hard to see ~

(to be) is left out for brevity.

Is it right ?

plz give me a reasonable explanation.

Your explanation is fine, in my opinion. As an aside, I'd say "difficult to see," since "hard boiled eggs" are another thing. The verb "to make" often takes an adjective complement.
