Hello, pengfei xue-- and welcome to English Forums. I am not sure what you are looking for when you say 'title' but formally we call people by title + last name ('Hello, Mr Smith' 'Good morning, Dr Jones') and for friends we just use first names ('Hi, John' 'Good morning, Mary'). As for asking about another person's job, we usually just say " What do you do?

My fault. I thought I put my question on subject.

I was asking a question.

What is the way to ask what someone's job is on different occasions, like when you met your old friend or some other you first meet on formal occasion? Thanks!

Our posts seem to have crossed. 'What do you do?' is fine for first meetings, formal or informal; 'What do you do now? / What are you doing now?' is good for re-greeting old acquiantances.

I missed that. if I am asking you what are you doing now? how can you tell if I am asking what your job is or just asking you what are you doing at this moment?
